Editorial Governance

Open Access Policy

Globenix Publisher is committed to maximising the accessibility, reuse, and impact of research by publishing under an open access (OA) model[cite: 419].

1. Gold Open Access Model

Globenix Publisher primarily publishes journals under a Gold Open Access model — the final published article (Version of Record) is made freely and permanently available on the journal website immediately on publication under a clear open licence[cite: 422].

  • If a journal operates without APCs (diamond/platinum OA), this is clearly indicated on the journal’s homepage[cite: 423].
  • APC-charging journals will invoice only after acceptance (never as a condition of submission)[cite: 424].

2. Default Licence & Author Rights

Globenix Publisher’s default licence is Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) unless a journal states otherwise for a specific justified reason[cite: 426].

  • Reuse & Distribution: Anyone may copy, redistribute, remix, adapt, and build upon the work for any purpose, including commercially, provided appropriate credit is given to the original authors and a link to the licence is provided[cite: 427].
  • Author Rights: Authors retain copyright and grant the Publisher a non-exclusive License to Publish for dissemination, DOI registration, and archiving[cite: 428].

3. Self-Archiving & Preprints (Green OA)

We encourage authors to share their work at all stages of the publication process to maximize discoverability.

  • Preprints: Posting to recognized preprint servers (e.g., arXiv, SSRN, bioRxiv) before or during submission is permitted and does not count as prior publication[cite: 436].
  • Accepted Manuscript: The author’s accepted manuscript (post-peer-review, pre-typesetting) is allowed for immediate deposit under the default CC BY model[cite: 439].
  • Version of Record (VoR): The final published VoR may be shared immediately per the article licence[cite: 440]. Authors should always include a citation to the VoR and DOI when depositing[cite: 441].

4. Discoverability & Metadata

To ensure discoverability and to support indexing services, we publish comprehensive, machine-readable article metadata for every article[cite: 447]. This includes:

  • Author names, affiliations, and ORCID iDs where provided[cite: 447].
  • Funding statements, grant numbers, and the License URI[cite: 447].

Text & Data Mining (TDM)

Articles published under CC BY permit text and data mining without requiring additional permission[cite: 448]. We strongly encourage authors to deposit underlying data and code in appropriate repositories to facilitate TDM reproducibility[cite: 450].

5. Repositories & Preservation

Globenix Publisher supports long-term access by:

  • Allowing broad repository deposit (Green OA)[cite: 451].
  • Depositing article metadata and DOIs with Crossref to support discovery[cite: 452].
  • Participating in archiving/preservation services (CLOCKSS, Portico or equivalent)[cite: 453].

6. Funder Mandates & Compliance

Globenix Publisher respects funder and institutional open access mandates[cite: 443]. If a funder requires a specific licence or deposit route, authors must notify the Editorial Office at acceptance[cite: 444]. The Publisher will implement the required licence and metadata to support compliance[cite: 444].

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I lose copyright if I publish with Globenix Publisher?
No. Under the default policy authors retain copyright and grant the Publisher a non-exclusive License to Publish[cite: 462, 463].
Can I post my article on my personal website or institutional repository?
Yes[cite: 465]. Under CC BY 4.0 you may share the VoR and accepted manuscript immediately, provided you include proper attribution and the DOI[cite: 466].
Does open access affect editorial decisions?
No. Editorial decisions are based solely on scholarly merit[cite: 469]. APCs, waivers, or funding are handled separately and do not influence peer review or acceptance[cite: 470].
